Chipstead Sailing Club

Great news for Chipstead Sailing Club Training Section.

We have taken delivery of new Laser and Wayfarer dinghies.

Thursday 21 March 2019 saw the delivery of 3 new Laser dinghies for the Chipstead SC training section. The dinghies were a donation from an anonymous club member and were to replace 3 old Lasers that had reached the end of their sustainable life.

Many thanks to our donor, to those who attended the club to unload the new boats and to de-rig and load the old boats onto the trailer and of course to Peter Vincent and his trusty helper Bailey for the delivery of the new boats and the collection for recycling of the old ones.

Friday saw the delivery of 2 almost new Wayfarer dinghies for the Chipstead SC training section. The dinghies were formerly training dinghies at another top level training establishment and were fully restored to new condition by Hartley Boats, the original builder of them prior to their purchase by the club.

Many thanks to those members who attended the club to unload the new boats and learn how they are rigged, including for spinnaker and trapeze although trapezes are not used at Chipstead. Many thanks to Mark Hartley, production director of Hartley boats for the delivery and help in getting the boats fully rigged and ready to go sailing.
